Summary of Electrical Work

Since January 2005 when Part P of the Building Regulations came into force I have been limited as to the extent of electrical work that I can undertake. Although I am a qualified Electrical/Electronic Engineer the new regulations limit the bulk of electrical work that can be undertaken to registered qualified Electricians.

That said, I am still able to replace existing electrical accessories, switches, ceiling roses, light fittings, etc.

I am able to add extra sockets or lights to an existing circuit except if they are located in a kitchen, bathroom or outdoors.

I can fit new light fittings including security lights.

I can also fit additional telephone points.
